Woods Girl Makes Her Debut

A new character and her companion have emerged from the studio and are out exploring the woods.  She is going by "Woods Girl" until she tells me her name and her mouse companion goes by "Mouse," of course.  I am looking forward to following them as they explore our woods during the year.  When the snow comes she will need a pair of snowshoes but for now she is enjoying this unseasonably warm December we are having.

The Night Visitor

The Night Visitor

This is a porcelain and rya woven piece with its own set of pit fired runes.  It is a blend of my love of animals, Norse myth and culture, weaving and ceramics.  It will be at the Textile Center in Minneapolis, MN in January in The Common Thread exhibit.

Bats!

This mixed media piece is made from an "upcycled" leather coat, ceramic and wire.  I've had enough experiences with bats inside my house that I know that I love them best when they are outside!

New Work for Guest Artist Spot at Micropolis Gallery

I've been in my "mole" mode. It feels like I go underground for a long period of time and don't come up for daylight until I stop working.  This past year was spent with my head down, my hands busy, and just making stuff.  Some of the new work will be shown this fall at the Micropolis Gallery in Gloversville, New York from September 15th through November 2nd.   Here are a few of the pieces that have come out of the kiln:
