This bear emerged from the studio about the same time we had one visit the woods. He or she left her claw marks on a birch tree she pushed over. Bears have been a powerful symbol in my life, especially when I was a single mother of two little ones. My cubs are grown now but the protective instinct of Ursa served me well when they were young.
